Employment Practices Liability (EPL) provides coverage for defense costs and damages related to multiple types of employment-related claims deriving from the employer-employee relationship.

Additional Coverages

Additional coverages can include claims from a variety of other types of inappropriate workplace conduct including (but not limited to) defamation, invasion of privacy, failure to promote, deprivation of a career opportunity, and negligent evaluation. The policy covers directors and officers, management personnel, and employees as insureds.


Written on a Claims-Made Basis

EPLI policies are written on a claims-made basis. Although Employment Practices is available as a stand-alone coverage, it is also frequently included as part of a management liability package policy. Management Liability policies often include Directors and Officers (D&O), Fiduciary Liability, Fidelity/Crime coverage and Employment Practices Liability.
